Music Venues in Manchester

Music Venues in Manchester

If you seriously love music, you're most definately in the right place. Singing Lessons Manchester are so excited to present five of the very best music venues in the city! And with this much going on there really is something for every taste (unless you're the headphones-in-bedroom type...), so don your finest rock 'n' roll/blues/classical/folk/pop-punk boots, and step on down to one of these sweet destinations..

Manchester Arena

Manchester arena is THE biggest indoor arena in Europe. And if that alone doesn't get you vibes flowing, since its opening in 1995 the venue has hosted the likes of U2, The Rolling Stones, Lady Gaga, The Courteeners, Pavarotti, and Peter Kay, not to mention Manchester's very own Oasis, Take That and Elbow, amongst many, many more! The showcase seats 21,000 people, and attracts over a million visitors every year. The arena has been nominated no less than ten times for the prestigious title of 'International Venue of The Year' taking the top spot in 2002. The SMG operated facility also houses huge sporting events, such as international boxing, swimming, and the GB-USA warm-up basketball battle for the 2012 Olympic Games. So once you've scored tickets to see your favourite artist take on this epic venue, check it out at 21 Hunts Bank, Victoria Station, M3 1AR.

02 Apollo Manchester

At Stockport Road, M12 6AP, you can find one of Manchester's oldest venues. Opened in 1938, the Manchester 02 Apollo inhabits a grade II listed Art-Deco styled building, and is a firm favourite among up-and-coming bands, as well as classic acts that simply can't keep away! The hall holds up to 3,500 passionate music fans, though originally was built as a cinema, and remained that way until the 70's. Now it contains the best of both! A fully fledged cinema screen under the same roof as a seriously great venue - that's what we'd call entertainment. Recent performers include Gary Barlow, Paloma Faith and Nicki Minaj.

Manchester Academy

Manchester Academy is the University of Manchester's contribution to pure, musical satisfaction. The academy actually includes four seperate venues run by the Uni, although it was originally the name for just it's biggest. Spanning back to 1963, the location has presented a simply awesome roll of some of the finest artists in history, such as Johnny Kidd and The Pirates, The Who, The Velvet Underground, Massive Attack, The Offspring, Foo Fighters, Faithless, Fall Out Boy, The Arctic Monkeys, Jamie T and Mumford & Sons, plus HUNDREDS more. With one of the most truly diverse offerings we've seen at Singing Lessons Manchester, don't let up the chance to be part of history at Oxford Road, M13 9PR. Rock on!

Etihad Stadium

If you're a city fan you might recognise the postcode, M11 3FF, for being the MCFC home ground. However, the stadium offers a great deal more than just football. Do the names of Muse, Coldplay, Bon Jovi or Robbie Williams tickle your fancy at all? Those are just a few of the legendary icons to have played at the Etihad Stadium in recent years. Holding up to 60,000 visitors this venue has really experienced its soundwaves since its opening in 2004. Mancunians Take That performed an epic seven-day, £400k sell-out bash in 2001, to celebrate the end of the stadium's 12-month musical abstinance due to a pitch regeneration. Having a destination of this calibre on your doorstep, there simply is no excuse to not check it out, at least once, or you might love it that much you'll end up with a season ticket! And we're not talking football..

Sound Control Manchester

Sound Control Manchester is your regular pitstop for checking out local sounds, and maybe even eyeing it up for your own debut performance! The venue has 3 floors, including a 400-capacity basement, smaller ground-floor live room and bar, and a humble 500-person live music venue at the top! Intimate and sweaty, you're guarenteed to have a brilliantly memorable night-out here, with the added adrenalin of potentially seeing the next best thing in the making. The building is steeped in musical history, starting its life as a top-notch music store and repair shop, moving swiftly into the live music scene, and finally progressing into Sound Control as we now know and love, since 2010. Investigate at 1 New Wakefield Street  Manchester, M1 5NP. We, at Singing Lessons Manchester, will see you there!!
